The 2008 Shiekha Al-Saad Al-Sabah Squash Tournament held between April 21st and 27th, 2008 is the fourth Tournament of it's kind, as the Tournament has been re-occurring on an annual basis. The Tournament organizers have for the past four consecutive years been constantly out-doing themselves in order to provide the world of Squash with the largest Prize money fund in Squash history. It is a fact that within the PSA World Tour (Professional Squash Association) The Shiekha Squash Tournament has broken the record for the highest prize money fund every year it is held. This is why within the Squash Community Worldwide, The Sheikha Squash Tournament is highly regarded as a Platinum 5-Star Super Series Event, the highest and most prestigious level of event in the PSA. Based on these previous successes the PSA has signed a 3 year agreement with the Sheikha Saad Tournament Committee for 2006, 2008 and a final commitment in 2009 to host the Men's World Open in late November.
This year, 2008, is considered a run-up to the World Open in 2009, as the Tournament has proved itself over the past 3 years to be an indispensible part of the PSA Tournament Calendar.
It comes as no surprise, therefore, that all those that love, honor, support and play the magnificent game of Squash eagerly attend the Sheikha Squash Tournament. This is evidenced by assured attendance of the Top 64 Players in the World, as well as the media and support staff of the squash world. Continuing our tradition, the tournament will be attended by world –renown Squash dignitaries and patrons such as the Legendary Jahanghir Khan, as well the PSA President and Vice President. This year's Sheikha Tournament promises to bring a supreme level of Squash competition, as well as a warm and hospitable atmosphere for our guests and spectators.
