World's Top Players participate in Kuwait Open 2010
With more than half of the top ten seeds in the 2010 HH Sheikh Saad Abdullah Al-Sabah Trophy, The Patriarch Amir, Kuwait Open having held the world number one ranking in their careers, the $172,500 PSA Super Series squash event which was held in Green Island from 28 October to 2 November .
World number one Ramy Ashour claimed his second Kuwait Open title as he beat reigning world champion Amr Shabana in four games in the final, reversing the result of their meeting in the world open final here last year.
Shabana took a tight first game, but Ashour bounced back to take the second with some ease. The third was a brutal and crucial game as Shabana fought back from 10/8 down to earn his own at 11/10, but Ashour clinched it 13/11.
That was the end of the final as a contest as Ashour romped through the fourth game in two minutes, Shabana offering token resistance. At 10/0 Ashour effectively gave Shabana a point, them slammed his serve into the nick to take the title.
